Your kart drives by itself. Slide your left thumb to steer. Hold DRIFT while steering to slide round bends, tap ITEM to use what you got, hold BRAKE and tap ITEM to throw it back.
Hold drift through a bend: the sparks change colour three times. Let go for a boost.
